LTI Smart Glass is proud to offer the only complete UL Approved Smart Glass panel system in the industry! It is the perfect solution to your need for instant switchable privacy. Smart Glass is a laminated product either in glass or polycarbonate that appears opaque, like frosted glass, when non-electrified, and becomes transparent once an electrical current is applied.
Smart Glass is available in a variety of shapes, sizes, and compositions. Panels can be used as single switchable interior panels, such as wall partitions, door inserts, or full glass conference room doors. It can also be incorporated into insulated exterior units, in a variety of overall thicknesses, for use as stationary picture windows and/or door inserts. Tinted glass and LowE coatings are also available for added energy efficiency.



LTI’s Smart Glass is manufactured by custom order to meet your projects unique specification. Panels are commonly created in widths up to 38” and can be special ordered with wider widths under certain conditions. Lengths can extend well over 120” when necessary.

What is Containment Grade Glass?
A Containment Grade GCP or "Glass Clad Polycarbonate" is used in environments where glazing is required to resist penetration for an extended period of time while still allowing at least limited visibility.
Unlike ballistic laminates which are designed to resist single instantaneous projectile impacts, a containment grade product defends against attacks which are usually premeditated, sustained attacks executed by one or more attacker.

The laminates are designed and constructed with the assumption that the attacker has experience with transparent security glazings and plans to use multiple weapon types. The following chart identifies just a small portion of containment barrier testing:

What is Ballistic Glass?

Ballistic Attacks are classified as assaults from handguns, shotguns or rifles. There are two major threats when transparent glazings come under a ballistic attack.

The first is projectile penetration of the glazing. Obviously if the laminate fails the result is often destruction, injury and death.

The second major threat to glass and windows while under a ballistic attack is "Spall". Spalling occurs as shards of glass break away from the rear face (protection side) of a laminate as a result of the impact, becoming projectiles themselves. Significant injuries, loss of vision even death has occurred due to high-spalling laminates.

The LTI Group manufactures three variations of ballistic laminates.

Our SmartGard™-BR series laminate is a "non-spalling" laminate which incorporates a layer of polycarbonate on the "inner" or "protection" side. This layer of polycarbonate is known as a "spall shield".


Our SmartGard™-GCP series laminate is a "low-spall" product. The protection side of the laminate is a glass layer bonded with a clear adhesive interlayer to polycarbonate. This configuration, is known as a "glass-clad polycarbonate" laminate and offers superior chemical and abrasion resistance on the protection side as glass is a much harder surface then polycarbonate.

The SmartGard™-BR LC is our Ballistic Privacy™ product. This laminate incorporates the same attack protection of our standard BR line with the added benefit of our LTI Privacy Glass for On-Demand privacy. This product is also an LTI Group exclusive!

What is Signal Defense and Why Do I Need It?
Signals Defenses® Technology (SD) is a patented, optically clear, Radio Frequency (RF), Infrared (IR) and Ultraviolet (UV) blocking window film, glass or polycarbonate (PC). Deploying SD Technology to fenestrations will provide privacy/eavesdropping protection, additional security for wireless networks/devices, RF sheltering for equipment and humans with very HIGH solar energy/UV blocking.

The SD2500 Film provides the HIGHEST levels of RF and IR attenuation, meets and exceeds the
requirements of various US Government organizations’ specifications for optically clear RF/IR/UV
attenuating film/optical coatings, especially with respect to IR, and is listed by DoD as an RF/IR Attenuation
film tested to be “beneficial” as Alternative Shielding including TEMPEST Countermeasures.
