Dock seals and shelters are installed to conserve energy and to
protect against dirt, debris, fumes, pests and harsh elements.
They also help decrease the possibility of slips, falls and lift truck
skids.
Seals and shelters should be sized to fit all
trailers serviced at a particular dock. An improper seal against
just one or two trucks per day can make the dock unsafe and less
efficient.
S-420
Rigid Dock Shelter
- Double-ply wear area on bottom of vertical panels
- Fiberglass panels on rigid side frames and header frame
- Pressure treated kiln dried Grade #1 framework
- Foam bead edge on inside edge of vertical panels
- 24" wide pleats on head curtain & critical wear areas
Dock shelters accommodate the widest range of truck and building
variations while providing full access to the back of the trailer. The
shelter uses flexible stays inside the curtains to keep panels snug
against trailer.

The ULTRA Dock Shelter Model
S-2200 combines the flexibility of a seal and the full trailer access of
a shelter. The ULTRA Dock Shelter Model S-2200 creates a tight seal
between the building wall and the back of the truck. It effectively
keeps the outside elements, such as the cold, rain, sleet and snow, out
of the warehouse providing energy savings and added comfort for your
employees. The ULTRA Dock Shelter's unique steel frame design and
construction is covered by a Serco 5-year warranty against rotting,
cracking or warping.
Seals and Shelter Selection
Fixed Head Seals
Ideal in situations where a tight-fitting seal is required and a
relatively standard height of truck is being serviced at the dock.
Curtain Head Seals
These seals have a curtain at the head and are used when dealing
with varying height trailers.
Adjustable Head Seals
Seals of either the counterweighted type with steel backed head pad
or counterbalanced type that utilize a pull-down head pad with follower
curtain are another approach to sealing a variety of truck heights.
Shel-Seal™
This L-shaped seal can be used to accommodate both 96” and 102”
wide trailers and allows full access to loads.

BOTTOM PAD BUMPERS - For full perimeter seal at dock door.
NOTE: Bumpers are essential with a seal installation to prevent
over-compression.
BEVELED HEAD/SIDE PADS
Beveled head/side pads may be installed in order to provide
effective sealing where doorways are wider/higher than normal truck door
openings.
TAPERED SEAL SIDE PADS
Seal pads tapering from top or bottom may be fitted to fill the
angle between doors and trucks caused by an incline or decline of the
dock approach.

DURAPLEAT®
