The Van-Guard® series of security screens is recommended for non-violent psychiatric rooms, alcohol/drug detox, hospital pharmacies, lounge areas and juvenile residential centers. The Van-Guard® screens offer a high level of security and great airflow. The perfect solution for smokey lounge areas. Custom colours are available to coordinate with your patient room colours.

Kane recommends using our Steel Van-Guard® for juvenile areas and upgrading to our prison grade "heavy" wire cloth. The steel screen can take the abuse of destructive juveniles.

Visibility is not an issue with the Van-Guard® Security Screens. The 12 mesh (12 openings per inch).028 inch diameter wire cloth is stainless steel and will provide years of service. The Bitt Key locking system has been used on Kane screens for over 50 years and is patient proof. Crossbars are used on all screens over 48 inches in height and align with the meeting rails of the window. The result is a security screen that is "not" institutional looking.

Escape deterrent: Forced entry and vandalism, resists repeated forced blows and body thrown at  the screen at full force.

                     

The Defender series security screens stand up to continual abuse by violent psychiatric patients. These aluminum or steel framed screens are constructed using high strength stainless steel wire cloth attached to a coil spring suspension inside the screen frame.

This shock absorbing mechanism acts like a trampoline, if the patient runs headfirst into the screen. These screens are ideal for violent psychiatric wards, juvenile detention, forensic facilities, quiet rooms and provide a home like atmosphere.

Security Level    8          MEDIUM BARRIER SECURITY: 
Security from escape through overhead fixtures at  recreation yards within  prison  perimeter security.  Divides area within the prison.

Security Level    9          MAXIMUM BARRIER SECURITY: 
Prime security from escape in prison cells.  Prime perimeter security.
